wEALTHIEST COUNTRY ON EARTH
- To what extent is international society’s management of natural resources similar to that of the Rapa Nui people on Easter Island?
Rapa nui is the people who lives on Easter Island, they could not live without fishing, they were once happy human being,
until... years after years, their population grows and they begin to get lot more fish by feeding their people, but there are still many fishes living, but maybe some fisherman try to export and start the business of fishing, in order to get benefits, those fisher man began to massacre and catches those fishes lot more compare to previous years, for selling them, and it goes on for few years later, the fishes are all gone, they do not have food to eat, they all died.
Fish needs time to reproduce, like any other species on Earth, Rapa Nui people is one of the example that shows Human's selfishness, I am not saying that Rapa Nui people is bad, what I am trying to say is that every ethnics, nationality would do this kind of thing, human could not stop using or killing natural resources by getting benefits from it, the resources will all be gone if human do not stop.
Human beings nowadays does not care about their environment, even global warming, acid rain, weird climate (a week), they would not stop polluting their home, country, or the world.
Rapa nui was a perfect example for nowadays's problem, although Human(LECD/MECD) had already fixes some critical problem like fixing the ozone hole, or acid rain, it is still not enough, if we do not stop from over hunting/killing our food, or factory producing that causes air pollution, the Earth will be gone within few decades.

- Are world trade regimes based more on dominance or reciprocity?
I think it is dominance more than reciprocity, because for example WTO has set the rule and all the things that seems pretty fair to all members or countries, they try to be reciprocity as possible according to the MFN, the poor counties' economy should be getting better and better, but the film "Black Gold" the documentary about Ethiopia's main export coffee trading, the coffee farmers are still poor shows us that the WTO does not work with the poor countries, for an example you put PAS high school basketball team to compete with the NBA Chicago Bulls, the chance of PAS to win is impossible.
The truth are the poor country could not compete with other developed countries, although they have the largest export of coffee they will not get the fair income, comparing to the Starbucks or other developed countries' coffee company, the government of Ethiopia are too poor, there are no countries that invest or buy bonds from them, which could possibly raise the economy of Ethiopia, and the government of Ethiopia are borrowing money for paying their interest not for the road constructing, larger exports, more factory ... which keep them still very poor and weak.
On the other hand, Ethiopia only have the income from coffee they do not have diversity of exporting products, which makes them not a develop country, for example 50 years ago Taiwan main exports are agriculture, which is in a very bad situation, the government decided to make changes of what they are exporting so if coffee's or agriculture's' value drops a lot, Ethiopia will be devastated and it would not be a problem for Taiwan because Taiwan have another way to make money but Ethiopia have only one.
The conclusion is WTO built the rule based on reciprocity, they want all the "developed" countries to be fair for what they trade, but it does not work for the non developed countries, it is like PAS competing with the Chicago Bulls, it will not be fair and the economy of non developed countries will be decreasing, so the truth is that World trade are more on reciprocity.
